Processing.
As with other types of vegetable, eggplants too, until very recently, were processed using manual labor only. We set ourselves the goal of improving this process and reducing processing costs, and today, given the satisfaction expressed by customers who have installed our technologies, we are delighted to say that we have more than fulfilled that goal.
Innovative technology.
We developed a new series of machines specifically designed for processing elongated products such as eggplants. We developed technologies for bins dumping and for feeding of the processing/sorting line with manual feeding.
We then turned our attention to fine-tuning the fruit alignment stage and the electronic sorting system with UNI ONE LF Jolly and UNI VERS 270. Last of all is the packing stage, available in two versions: one in water and the other dry, to suit the specific preferences and requirements of each client.
Quality Enhancement.
Electronic sorting can be carried out (depending on market requirements) based on diameter, length or volume and shape. Applying these parameters to processing helped considerably to enhance the quality of packs presented to the market, as the uniform nature of the products contained in each pack increases the consumer’s positive perception of produce quality.
Reduction in processing costs.
The development of automatic dumping, electronic sorting (by size, shape and length) and optimized packing are some of the key improvements obtained through new solutions implemented at the various processing stages. Each played a valuable role in greatly reducing processing costs for this delicate, particular vegetable.
