Lugo, 29 September 2017 – Research, high-performance custom technology, innovation, goals genuinely shared with the client, a united team, the guarantee of correctly classifying the many quality parameters of fresh fruit and vegetables, from the field to the packing house and from large-scale retail to the end consumer.

These are the distinctive traits of Unitec S.p.A., an international organisation with headquarters in Lugo, Romagna, which received a “Ceccarelli ICP 2017 Champions of Productivity” award on 27 September in Milan. This genuine ranking of excellence is promoted by Ceccarelli and Corriere della Sera/L’Economia as media partner.

For years, Italy has been losing ground in terms of productivity with respect to advanced countries, and to ascertain that of businesses, a key factor on national competitiveness, Ceccarelli has analysed the biggest 5,235 Italian companies and pinpointed excellence, selecting 140 finalist companies and nominating 14 sector leaders and 1 national champion. The ranking was drawn up in accordance with the Ceccarelli ICP® productivity model, which employs precise indices of market, organisation and capital.
Specifically Unitec S.p.A., an international specialist in the design and production of innovative technologies for processing, sorting, quality classification and packing of over 35 types of fresh fruit and vegetables, won the sector leader in the “Capital Goods, 50–100 million € turnover band” category title as a company which has worked with intelligence and determination to improve its global productivity.

The awards ceremony was held on the afternoon of Wednesday, 27 September in Milan, at the Sala Buzzati of the Corriere della Sera Foundation.
